What We Do

Parents of children with special needs are constantly seeking to maximize their child’s learning ability and to supplement their academic programs with private tutoring. The challenge for a parent in creating this supplementary learning is two-fold: finding an appropriate tutor and finding the financial means to pay the tutor.

Dovi’s Playhouse has a pre-screened and closely monitored pool of tutors who are matched with children needing tutors. Dovi’s Playhouse covers the cost of the weekly one hour sessions.

Dovi’s Playhouse tutors are young men and women with experience in dealing with the special needs population. All of our tutors have worked in special needs educational, recreational or respite programs and/or hold or are studying for degrees in special education or the related therapy fields.

Dovi’s Playhouse tutors work one on one with the student in the child’s home, eliminating the need for the parents to schedule in yet another appointment outside the home.

Tutoring can be conducted in English, Hebrew or Yiddish.

Dovi’s Playhouse tutors focus on skills such as Aleph-Bais, Kriya, preparation for Bar Mitzvah, Siddur or other areas as directed by the parent.
